Hello and Reunion

Hey there! Well, Audrey has been posting and posting, and I finally got her off the computer long enough to let me type. Well, that MAY be what happened...but maybe not. Anyway, things here have been really good. Like Audrey has said, we are in the process of buying a house and she is looking for a job. My office is being painted right now, and as soon as that is over I will put some pictures up. Audrey talked about the family reunion that we went to a few weeks ago, and we got some pictures back from that which I thought I'd get on and post before Audrey could. Here they are:

This is my wife and me with my grandparents. They live in Indiana, and are my mother's parents. I hadn't seen them for almost five years, so it was really special to get to spend time with them and introduce them to my wife. Their names are Amos and Irene.

This is my immediate family. My parents, my sister and her family and Audrey and I. My parents' names are Phil and Cindy, and the rest are Darin, Rachel, Kaireia, Neidon, Kardia.

This is my mother's oldest brother, Randy, and his family.

This last picture is of the middle Miller child (that's my mom's maiden name) Galen, his wife Charlotte, and their two kids and grandkids.

That's all I have for now! Hope you enjoyed the pictures and I'll post more later!

Days flying by

This last week seemed to just fly by! Reed and I had a home inspection done on the house we are looking to buy, last Wednesday. Things went really well, and luckily there is not much that needs fixed up. We feel pretty fortunate to have found this house!
I also had a job interview last Thursday. I came away from the interview a little confused and discouraged. It wasn't so much that I didn't do well in the interview, as much as that I wasn't sure it it was where I am suppose to be. And the more time I thought about it, the less I wanted the position. I am just not sure that I want to commit to so many hours right now. So. . . needless to say, I am going to start looking for something part time. Now, I know that it is hard to work in children services just part time, so I am looking a little outside of my field. I spent some of Friday looking into substitute teaching and may pursue that path. I love teaching and I could have a more flexible schedule and be available for whatever comes up. I'll keep you posted on how things turn out.
Reed and I hung out with some of our friends from AZ on Thursday night. Our friends Ethel and Jim came to visit us! We went to the Spaghetti Warehouse (excellent restaurant) and then just hung out at our condo afterward. It was so nice to catch up and be around familiar faces!
We had a great weekend too! Reed and I went on a bike ride on Saturday evening at one of the nearby parks. Columbus is full of great parks!
And Sunday was Kardia's first birthday! We went over to the Kleeman's for pizza, presents and cake. Kardia was very cute eating her chocolate cake! Of course, most of it ended up on her body instead of in her mouth!
And so we start another week! Hopefully we can start to get into some routines and start to settle down!

I know it has been awhile since Reed and I have posted anything. We have been pretty busy! We had a Miller family reunion in Lafayette, IN last weekend. We drove over to Lafayette with the Kleeman gang on Friday morning and left Saturday evening. It was a short trip, but it was really nice to finally put a face to people that Reed talks about. It was also really nice to finally meet the Miller grandparents and see Phil and Cindy there! I will post some pictures soon.

We also had a church picnic in our honor on Sunday afternoon. It was a great time to get to know more people and spend time eating and hanging out! We really feel so blessed to be a part of this church!

I have a job interview this Thursday with an organization that contracts with the county for children services, so we are praying that that goes well. I am pretty sure it is right up my alley.

We are also getting closer to closing on the house we are trying to buy. We have an inspection this week and have been finishing up the loan paperwork. Lots of fun! Our Realtor is having her baby tomorrow, too! Lots of exciting things. It is all running very smoothly though.

I am babysitting today for a family in the church. They were in need of a sitter and I was in need of something to keep me busy, so it is working out pretty nicely! The little boy is adorable and very easy to take care of!

One of my friends, Ethel and her husband Jim, from AZ, are coming to visit on Thursday, which should be fun!

Well, that is about all for now. I'll write more later and try to post some pictures.

Sunday Afternoon

After church yesterday, we headed out to a Mexican restaurant for some good food with the Kleemans and Cindy.
After eating, we hung out for the remainder of the day at the Kleeman's house
played out side with the kids and watched A LOT of Olympics.

It was so great to not have anything else that we HAD to do during the day. Reed and I are loving the more relaxed schedule!

We're buying a house!

Yesterday we decided to put an offer on a house and today we accepted a counter offer to buy it! So. . . if all goes well, we'll be in our new place pretty soon! Of course things are not final yet, but hopefully thing will go smoothly with inspections and all the details. We really like this house and it has a lot of potential for us to grow into it. It's a four level split house with three bedrooms and 1 and 1/2 baths, with a full basement and big backyard! It also has a nice fireplace and kitchen! I am already thinking of different things to do with it! I'll send pictures as things get more finalized. Our goal would be to move in during the first part of October. God is so good and has already blessed us in so many ways here in Ohio!
After accepting the offer, Reed and I headed out to downtown Worthington and then over to Easton Town Center. We just did some walking around and enjoyed some ice cream from Graeters! We love Graeters! It is one of our new favorites! Today I had a scoop of the Buckeye Blitz, which is a chocolate ice cream with buckeyes (fudge with peanut butter in the middle) and chocolate chips. It's soooo yummy!
Downtown Worthington is such a beautiful little town with flowers and ivy everywhere, with brick buildings. And Easton is an outdoor mall which reminded Reed and I of something that would be in California. It is the "trendy" mall of the area.
Afterwards we came home and have just been relaxing. We'll probably head over to Rachel and Darin's later to see the family.
All in all, it has been a pretty great day!

Still so much laundry to do!!!

Well, today is Thursday of Reed's first week of work. He is already loving his new position so much! We truly feel cared about here! Last night we had a get-together with some of the leaders from the children's ministry. Reed was given a chance to share a little of his vision for Beechwold CC and he was right on about everything he said! I couldn't have married a better man! I am so proud of him!
While he's been working, I've been organizing, cleaning, trying to find a job and doing laundry! Our place in AZ was smoke infested, from our lovely neighbors, so I have had to wash EVERYTHING we own! I went over to Rachel's on Monday and spent most of the day washing clothes, but barely made a dent. It was great to be able to spend time with her and the little ones. I have been enjoying getting to know my family! I'll probably go over there again today and do more! Rachel and Darin are leaving today to celebrate their 10th anniversary, so my mother-in-law is in town to watch the kids. This time, I'll get to spend time with her!
But then I've got to get home because we are having Brian and Sabrina over for dinner. Brian is our youth pastor and Sabrina is his wife. They are close to our age. Wahoo, we are already making friends!
One other thing. . .

I am so grateful that they have my favorite coffee creamer here in OH!!! And I get to enjoy it with my favorite coffee from San Antonio! I don't think there could be a better way to start my morning!!! Mmmmmm...

Smith-Harvey Vacation!

Every year our family goes over to Winema with the Smith family! It is my favorite vacation of the year! Last year, Reed and I weren't able to go because we had just gotten married and already used all of our vacation time in Maui. Plus we were opening a new campus is Gilbert, and things were a little CRAZY! How did we survive?!?!
This was Reed's first year, so it made it extra special! Plus, baby Claire was there to keep everyone's attention! I loved spending time with my whole family! And of course, the Smith's are our family too, which made it even more perfect! Everyone was together- at least for a day or two.

These are pictures from our trip to the Tillamook Cheese Factory!

It was a rainy day, but we still had lots of fun!

We went to Cascade head, which was fun too!

Reed had a little too much fun. . .
Claire was pretty tired from all the time in the car.

The Oregon Coast is such a beautiful place!

Reed was pretty excited that I wanted a picture of him next to the cow at the Cheese factory!
Okay, I finally have the pictures of our place, an internet connection, and time to post, all at the same time! Here is our lovely condo! It is little and cozy, but we feel sooooo blessed to have a place to live while we look for a house. God's timing is always so perfect!!!

This is Reed's favorite part of the condo. This is our first place with a basement! We love having the storage space. Especially since we do not currently have a garage and want to keep most of our stuff packed up. Reed has already rearranged it 3 times! I love my husband!
This is the main living area. We have a nice fireplace and the living room opens up to the kitchen, which is nice. It also has a nice bay window in the front, but it looks out into the street, so we usually have the blinds closed. On the left we have stairs that go down into the basement.
This is our bedroom. It is pretty empty because we aren't going to put anything on the walls. We also have a second bedroom that I don't have a photo of. It is our "office/ironing room/Reed's closet/etc". It has been nice to have a second bedroom! Wahoo! More room for things to go!
Here is the bathroom. . . I know, pretty exciting! This one won't get decorated either.
Here is the kitchen! I only have about half of the kitchen stuff unpacked. When we buy a house, then the rest will come out.
