We Closed on Our House!

Today we closed on our house! I was amazed at how smooth the whole process was for us! Even the paperwork was easy! We feel so blessed and can't wait to move in. We take possession on Sunday at 5:00 p.m. We will probably start to move things over throughout next week. Reed's parents are coming next weekend and can help with some of the move if we need them, although I am hoping to already be moved most of the way. The following weekend, my parents are coming too! It will be great to share our new home with everyone!
Here is a picture of the outside. It needs painting, but we will probably wait until the spring. I have already started my "hunny-do " list for Reed. He will be a very busy man for awhile! I will post more pictures later, when we get our stuff inside!

It has been so long!

I know it has been such a long time since we have posted anything! The last few weeks have been busy, but full of many blessings. Three Sundays ago, we lost power due to Hurricane Ike. We were without power until the following Friday. It was a quite a pain to go without electricity, but we seemed to manage okay. The main problem for me, was the food. I had bought groceries for Reed, for when I was gone to OR and I didn't want it all to go bad. Luckily Rachel and Darin were not that far away and they had power most of the time. They took care of all of our frozen foods for us.
On the 18th, I left for a trip to Oregon. I had such a great time! It was hard to leave Reed, but I was able to see friends I hadn't seen since our wedding! I also got to see my niece, Claire!
During my trip, I decided to rent a car and go up to Washington for two days. While there, I was able to see some of my closest friends! It was so wonderful! The drive wasn't very much fun, however. I had forgotten how much I hated that drive! Luckily I didn't hit too bad of traffic each way. We also had a party for Claire's 1st birthday, while I was there. It was so nice to see everyone! Emily did an amazing job decorating my parents' place.

I have posted a few pictures of people I saw. Of course, I forgot I had my camera with me most of the time and didn't take a lot of pictures.

I know, I couldn't get it to rotate!

Oh, I cut my hair, too! I needed a change!
I came back from my trip Saturday evening. It was so nice to see my hubby again. Although Reed had several people having him over for dinner and taking care of him, I think he missed me too.
So, we begin another week. We close on our house this Tuesday at 10 am! We are very excited! If all goes well, we'll take possession on Sunday and start to move in. It seems like this process has taken quite a while, but it should be well worth it!

Yesterday Reed and I had our pictures taken for the directory at church. Our pictures didn't turn out so hot, so we decided to go home and take a few of our own in our backyard. I always prefer pictures outside, anyway, compared to the staged ones with a plain backdrop.

Today I had an interview with Columbus City Schools and it went VERY well! I should be able to start substitute teaching soon. Of course there is still some paperwork to do, but otherwise it is pretty much a done deal! All I need now are for my transcripts to come in the mail. They seem to be taking FOREVER! As soon as I get my transcripts, I will be able to have the education board apply for my license- this may take a few weeks too! So, it is basically a waiting game now. I am pretty excited! I have always wanted to teach, but didn't think I could afford to go back to school again in order to make it happen. With substitute teaching, I can have a flexible schedule and teach when I want to. It is a great opportunity and I'll finally be working again!

Sorry for being pretty inconsistent with posting different things. It has been a pretty normal week at the Adams' house. Reed worked at the church and I babysat for Matthew. It was very nice to have Monday off together! I love spending time with Reed. Reed and I went downtown to the Greek Festival. It was a HUGE waste of our time and money. There really wasn't much going on besides a few kids dancing to music and food. Of course we had already eaten so we weren't even hungry. They were also selling jewelry and clothing in the church building, which we really didn't need any of. It was quite the disappointment. We went over to a metro park afterward, which was pretty.
We also tried this new restaurant out called, Cheeseburger in Paradise. It is a Jamaican place. I had fish tacos, which were AMAZING!
We finished the night off at the $1.50 theater and watched Hancock. It was pretty good- although, Reed and I didn't really understand part of it. The whole reasoning behind the main plot was pretty corny. Oh, well. At least I got to spend the day with Reed. I do love that!

Oh, I also dyed my hair on Sunday! It started out pretty black, but has lightened up quite a bit. I actually like it now. This picture was when it was still REALLY dark!
